Tokyo, Japan - LY Corporation introduced an artificial intelligence-powered product comparison feature for its Yahoo! Japan Shopping platform on May 20, automating the evaluation of multiple items based on user-defined criteria.

The feature, named "AI Omakase Hikaku" (AI Automated Comparison), evaluates 15 to 20 products simultaneously against user conditions such as price, delivery speed, and durability.

Users can input specific or abstract parameters using free text, such as "stylish design" or "lightweight." The system processes these requests in approximately 60 seconds, operating in the background while users continue browsing other pages.

The tool is the first functional expansion of the "Yahoo! Shopping AI Agent," introduced in February 2026, which operates across PC, iOS, and Android platforms.

According to LY Corporation, transactions processed through the AI Agent account for more than 15 percent of the platform's total transaction volume.

The company also reported that the purchase conversion rate for AI Agent users is 1.5 times higher than for non-users.

The comparison function uses OpenAI's API.

It falls under LY Corporation's "Agent i" artificial intelligence brand, which was announced on April 20, 2026, under the provisional name "AI Comparison Master."

The company said future updates to the feature will incorporate individual user purchase and browsing histories to provide personalized product recommendations.
