Tokyo, Japan - LY Corporation announced Monday the launch of "Agent i," an artificial intelligence agent that combines its previously separate "Yahoo! JAPAN AI Assistant" and "LINE AI" tools into a single web-based service.

The unified agent is accessible via a single tap from the interfaces of both the LINE messaging application and the Yahoo! JAPAN web portal.

At launch, the system includes seven domain-specific agents covering shopping, travel planning, and weather forecasting, as well as beta versions for automotive inquiries, interpersonal relationships, work-related topics, and recipes.

According to the company, the system is designed to operate without complex prompt engineering, allowing users to navigate options through a tap-based interface.

The agent cross-references user inputs with data aggregated from more than 100 LY Corporation services, according to the company.

LY Corporation outlined a phased expansion plan for the platform.

By June 2026, the company intends to implement a privacy-compliant memory function to personalize responses using user data.

Additional consumer features scheduled for deployment by mid-2026 include image recognition for recipe generation, automated stock market timing indicators, sentiment analysis for Yahoo News comments, and automated schedule adjustments using LINE’s calendar integration, the company said.

The update is expected to introduce task execution capabilities, such as automated product comparisons linked to Yahoo Shopping.

For enterprise and commercial users, LY Corporation plans to release "LINE OA AI Mode" in summer 2026, allowing corporate clients and local businesses to build custom AI agents on their LINE Official Accounts.

An enterprise-focused tool called "Agent i Biz," aimed at supporting corporate strategy and execution processes, is scheduled to launch in August 2026.

The company also noted upcoming integrations for its core platforms, including algorithmic updates to the Yahoo! JAPAN top page, and a new "Analyze Mood" feature within LINE chat rooms designed to assess conversation dynamics.
