Seoul, South Korea - NAVER Corp. announced Tuesday the beta release of a conversational artificial intelligence search service called "AI Tab," which will be made available to Naver Plus Membership subscribers on April 27.

AI Tab processes natural language queries and allows users to broaden their search through follow-up interactions.

The service is accessible via the NAVER PC main search bar, beneath AI briefings, and within integrated search results for shopping and local venues.

The company said the service draws on data from NAVER's existing vertical platforms—including Shopping, Place, Blog, and Cafe—as well as user-generated content.

When a user requests cafe recommendations based on specific criteria, for example, AI Tab aggregates Naver Place data, visitor reviews, and blog posts.

The interface displays options such as reservation booking or product purchasing on the right side of the PC screen.

NAVER plans to expand AI Tab to all users and add it to the mobile main search bar in the first half of 2026.

The company said it will use feedback gathered during the beta period to improve response speeds and the system's handling of complex, sequential queries ahead of the official launch.

NAVER also outlined plans to integrate AI Tab with its Smart Lens feature later this year to enable multimodal search capabilities.

The system is being developed to suggest follow-up questions to users.

CEO Soo Yeon Choi said the service is intended to serve as an integrated agent, connecting search to task execution through the company's vertical services.
