NAVER Partners with Brilliant Korea on AI Technology and Data

South Korean tech giant NAVER signs MOU with Brilliant Korea for AI model development using media content while providing AI solutions for content creation.

SEONGNAM, South Korea - NAVER and Brilliant Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on artificial intelligence technology and content sharing, the companies announced on Monday.

According to a company statement, the agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony at NAVER's headquarters in Seongnam. 

The ceremony was attended by NAVER CEO Choi Soo-yeon and Brilliant Korea CEO Park Dong-won.

Brilliant Korea, which owns the financial newspaper Money Today, news agencies News1 and Newsis, and financial broadcasting station MTN, will provide content for NAVER's AI services. 

In return, NAVER will offer various AI technology solutions.

Under the partnership, NAVER will use Brilliant Korea's content for AI model training and service enhancement. 

Brilliant Korea will implement AI solutions across its content production workflow, including reporting, writing, editing, distribution, and analysis to improve business and operational efficiency.

In addition to its existing multilingual translation and news summarization technologies, NAVER plans to develop additional AI solutions to assist with content production and management processes in collaboration with Brilliant Korea.

NAVER has been continuously developing its generative AI model, "HyperCLOVA X," since its release in August 2023. 

The company has advanced the technology into a multimodal AI capable of processing text, images, video, and audio.

It recently launched a more cost-efficient model with improved performance.

The company stated it will continue partnering with various organizations to ensure high-quality data for AI training and maintain diversity. 

NAVER expressed commitment to respecting the rights of copyright holders, including news organizations, while pursuing collaborative development in line with global AI trends.
