Tokyo, Japan - NEC Corp. (6701.T) has recently unveiled two new high-speed generative AI models, "NEC cotomi Pro" and "NEC cotomi Light," which demonstrate performance on par with leading global models at significantly faster speeds.

The NEC cotomi Pro model can match the performance of GPT-4 and Claude 2, with an 87% more rapid response time achieved using two GPUs.

The NEC cotomi Light model is capable of matching the performance of GPT-3.5-Turbo, processing requests at high speeds with 1-2 GPUs.

In global benchmarks measuring overall performance, the NEC cotomi Pro demonstrated superior performance to GPT-4 by more than five times on a two-GPU server.

The NEC cotomi Light exhibited an even more impressive performance, with a factor of over 15 times faster than GPT-4.

These results were observed in the "ELYZA Tasks 100" and "Japanese MT-Bench" tests, which assess the performance of generative AI systems.

Introducing the new models coincides with intense competition among Japanese companies to catch up with their US counterparts in the field of generative AI, which has been dominated by entities such as OpenAI and Anthropic.

NEC aims to assist customers in addressing complex challenges by providing AI services based on the expanded NEC cotomi lineup.
