London, Great Britain—Paramount Global Content Distribution announced a new licensing agreement with South Korean streaming service Coupang Play to create a Paramount+-branded destination platform.

The deal was unveiled during Content London.

The new offering, scheduled to launch in early 2025, will feature content from multiple Paramount entertainment divisions, including Paramount+ with Showtime, CBS Studios, MTV Entertainment Studios, Nickelodeon, Republic Pictures, and Paramount Pictures.

Coupang Play, which began operations in December 2020, currently offers original series, live sports, and both domestic and international television shows and movies.

Through this partnership, the streaming service aims to expand its content offerings.

Dan Cohen, Paramount's Chief Content Licensing Officer and President of Republic Pictures, emphasized the company's focus on delivering entertainment that resonates with South Korean audiences.

Cohen noted that Coupang Play's understanding of customer preferences was necessary for establishing the partnership.

Lisa Kramer, president of international content licensing and global content distribution at Paramount, addressed the company's Asian market strategy.

While establishing a flagship channel in Korea remains a future consideration, the current focus is on strategic partnerships.

The agreement joins Paramount's existing network of global content distribution partnerships, which includes arrangements with Cosmote in Greece, Streamz in Belgium, MultiChoice in Africa, JioCinema in India, Mono in Thailand, beIN in the Middle East and North Africa, and Blast TV in the Philippines.

Coupang Play representatives stated their commitment to delivering a diverse and differentiated viewing experience for their subscribers through this collaboration with Paramount.
