SEOUL, South Korea — Pi Corporation, a South Korean new media entertainment company, has secured KRW 4 billion (US$2.9 million) in Series A funding from Altos Ventures.

The post-money valuation is not publicly disclosed.

Pi Corporation was established in July 2021 by influencer Sohn Sung-soo to foster the growth of short-form content creators and idols.

The company has exclusive contracts with over 100 short-form creators and 300 live streamers.

Pi Corporation plans to utilize the proceeds to expand into e-commerce, launch its brand, develop new media idols, and produce short-form dramas.

Altos Ventures partner Moon-Suk Oh cited Pi Corporation's capacity to rapidly develop new creators into mega-celebrities and its successful revenue model based on global music challenges and brand collaborations as reasons for the investment.
