South Korean startup bitBlue has secured an initial investment from Mashup Angels to popularize non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for personal creations.

Founded in November 2022, the startup offers two services: the web3-based personal profile service “Know-Yourself” and the pure NFT infrastructure “NFTainment”

“Know-Yourself” is a Web3 service that allows personal creations such as images and music to be sold as NFTs on the chain, which can be shared and communicated with multiple people by linking to various Web2 social services.

“NFTainment” is an end-to-end service for NFTs that provides services such as IP and worldview planning, NFT design and production, publishing, community building, and IP extension for NFT projects for individuals, companies, and celebrities.

The bitBlue team, composed of experts in the field, develops NFT-based services and dedicated infrastructure to create diverse content and IP to lead a new culture in the Web3 ecosystem.

BitBlue is led by CEO Sangsik Joo, who has overseen the strategy and development of future technologies such as AI, blockchain, and Metaverse for more than 17 years at SM Entertainment.

BitBlue has brought together a seasoned group of experts comprising professionals with extensive experience in the entertainment, blockchain, and IT sectors.

The team features CSO Jun Tak Yoon, formerly of SK Planet and IBM in Korea, as well as senior managers Hyun Kyu Kim and Sooyoung Han, who boasts over a decade of development experience at SM Entertainment and Dear You.

The investment in bitBlue underscores the growing significance of NFTs, particularly in the personalization and entertainment industries, and the prospect for further expansion and advancement within the Web3 ecosystem.
