Samsung expands IoT security certifications for home appliances.

Seoul, South Korea - Samsung Electronics has obtained UL Solutions' IoT Security Rating Program 'Diamond' level verification for three additional home appliance products: the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, Air to Water Heat Pump, and Bespoke Slide-in Range. 

This brings Samsung's total 'Diamond' level verifications to five.

UL Solutions, a safety science company, evaluates smart home products' security capabilities. 

The 'Diamond' level is the highest of the five tiers and requires products to demonstrate certain security features.

Miyoung Yoo, EVP at Samsung Electronics, stated that the company will continue to focus on security for AI-enabled devices.

The newly certified products offer SmartThings connectivity and AI functions. 

The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo provides cycle recommendations, the Air to Water Heat Pump allows monitoring of solar PV energy usage, and the Bespoke Slide-in Range has voice control capabilities.

Samsung utilizes its Knox platform for security across its home appliance line.

The company plans to display its security-verified appliances, including the newly certified Air to Water Heat Pump and Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, at IFA 2024 in Berlin from September 6 to 10.
