Paris, France - Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (005930. KS) has provided the refurbished Pathé Palace theater in Paris with six Onyx cinema LED screens, representing the company's most comprehensive deployment of its theatrical display technology in a single venue.

The installation comprises four 10-meter-wide 4K Onyx screens and two 5-meter-wide 2K Onyx screens, thereby establishing the first theater to feature multiple installations of the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI)-certified LED displays in a single location.

The Onyx screens can deliver brightness levels of up to 300 nits, six times brighter than the brightness levels achievable by conventional film projectors.

Additionally, the screens are equipped with high dynamic range (HDR) imaging capabilities, which facilitate the production of enhanced black levels and contrast ratios.

Samsung's implementation of 3D on the Onyx screens employs active 3D glasses technology, which the company asserts reduces viewer discomfort and enhances subtitle clarity compared to traditional 3D projection systems.

The technology company has also installed an 8K Micro LED display, marketed as "The Wall," in the theater's main lobby.

The display's dimensions are 5.4 meters in height and 9.6 meters in width.

Integrating artificial intelligence processing through the MICRO AI Processor facilitates real-time content optimization and 8K upscaling.

The comprehensive installation includes implementing Samsung's QMC series Smart Signage displays throughout the venue for scheduling and trailer presentation.

Furthermore, the SH37C model Stretched Displays, which are installed in a 16:4.5 ratio at the entrances to the theater rooms, have been employed.

Approximately 200 5K ViewFinity S9 monitors have been integrated into Pathé's corporate headquarters as part of a technology upgrade.

Moreover, the company's boardroom features a distinctive installation of the IWA model of The Wall.

This deployment extends Samsung's existing partnership with Pathé, following previous installations of Onyx screens at Pathé Beaugrenelle in Paris and Pathé Bellecour in Lyon.

As Jacques Durand, the Chief Information Officer at Pathé Group, stated, the enhanced display technology will improve clarity and create a more immersive theatrical experience.
