Seoul, South Korea—Samsung Electronics will launch new refrigerators featuring AI Hybrid Cooling technology at CES 2025, marking the company's latest move into AI-enabled home appliances.

The new technology combines a high-efficiency compressor with a Peltier module. It operates similarly to a hybrid car, utilizing dual power sources when necessary.

The refrigerators employ AI algorithms to detect cooling demands and predict temperature changes.

The Peltier module is activated alongside the compressor during high-demand situations such as bulk grocery storage or hot weather conditions.

Samsung said the new models will offer 900-liter capacity while maintaining current external dimensions, achieving a 25-liter increase in internal space compared to previous models.

The company stated this allows for 60mm deeper shelves and can accommodate up to 240 beverage cans.

According to the announcement, the South Korean technology giant plans to introduce a model ENERGY STAR recognizes as "Most Efficient" in 2025.

Testing showed that when the Hybrid Precise Cooling feature is activated, fresh foods such as pork and salmon can last up to 1.4 and 1.2 times longer, respectively, compared to when the feature is disabled, the company said.

The AI Inverter Compressor requires a WiFi connection and Samsung account access.

It operates with 4.1 times greater inertia than conventional models, allowing for more prolonged operation with reduced energy consumption.
