SK hynix develops high-performance SSDs for data centers

Seoul, South Korea - SK hynix Inc announced the development of PEB110 E1.S (PEB110), a new solid-state drive (SSD) for data centers, boasting double the performance and over 30% greater power efficiency than its predecessor.

The new SSD applies fifth-generation PCIe specifications to achieve data transfer rates of up to 32 Giga transfers per second. 

Following customer qualification, SK hynix plans to begin mass production in Q2 2025.

PEB110 will be available in 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB capacities, supporting OCP version 2.5 specifications for global data center compatibility. 

The product also incorporates SPDM technology to enhance information security features.

Ahn Hyun, Head of the N-S Committee at SK hynix, stated that the new product builds on the company's 238-high 4D NAND technology. 

SK hynix aims to solidify its position as a leading AI memory provider in the growing data center SSD market.

The company expects the new SSD to complement its existing PS1010 product and meet increasing customer demand for high-performance NAND solutions in the AI era.
