SoftBank Launches Gen-AX: AI-Powered Business Solutions

Tokyo, Japan—Gen-AX Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SoftBank Corp., has initiated operations with the objective of providing generative AI-powered SaaS and consulting services for businesses by fiscal year 2024.

Gen-AX will develop and offer a range of SaaS products to enhance corporate efficiency by applying generative AI. 

The company will focus on customer support services, with subsequent expansion into other areas and industries planned.

In customer support, Gen-AX will develop an AI-powered automated contact center system based on SoftBank's internal call center automation project in collaboration with Microsoft Japan. 

In contrast to conventional flow-based models, Gen-AX's solution employs large language models (LLMs) to develop an "autonomous thinking" system. 

The system can reference the requisite functions and data sources based on the conversation's context.

The advent of Gen-AX represents a pivotal moment in the commercialization of generative AI technologies in Japan. 

By offering software solutions and consulting services, SoftBank is positioning itself as a principal actor in promoting AI adoption across the Japanese corporate landscape.
