Tokyo, Japan—Sony Thermo Technology Inc.(STTI), established in October 2023, commenced operations on April 1, 2024, taking over the REON business from Sony Group Corporation.
The REON business includes the portable thermal device "REON POCKET" and other related products.
STTI launched "REON BIZ," a new temperature solution and IoT cloud service for enterprises.
REON BIZ aims to visualize temperatures in outdoor work environments, such as construction sites, and indoor facilities, such as offices and warehouses.
The service will help customers assess heat risks and optimize facility management and air conditioning temperatures.
STTI plans to expand its offerings to the enterprise and international markets.
STTI is an outgrowth of the Sony Startup Acceleration Program (SSAP), which supports the creation and operation of startup companies.
The launch of REON BIZ comes as interest in temperature-related solutions grows due to factors such as the impact of climate change and increased environmental awareness.
