Tokyo, Japan —Sony Group announced on Monday that it will open its new "Ginza Sony Park" on January 26, 2025, marking the completion of its Sony Building reconstruction project in Tokyo's upscale Ginza district.

The urban park development, spanning 707.42 square meters, features a five-story building with four basement floors and stands at 33.9 meters.

It was deliberately designed at half the height of surrounding Ginza buildings to create an open atmosphere.

The project represents the final phase of a unique two-stage reconstruction process that began with the experimental conversion of the site into a temporary park during demolition from August 2018 to September 2021, followed by construction completion in August 2024.

Sony will inaugurate the space with "Sony Park Exhibition 2025," showcasing creative installations themed around the company's six business segments, created in collaboration with artists from Sony Music Group.

The development, located at 5-3-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, encompasses a total floor area of 4,357.49 square meters and will include a casual dining restaurant specializing in yoshoku, a Japanese interpretation of Western cuisine.

The project maintains the architectural philosophy of the original Sony Building, which has stood in Ginza for over 50 years, emphasizing public accessibility and efficient use of urban space.
