Twice Shines Bright: K-pop Sensations Achieve Global Success with 'MOONLIGHT SUNRISE'

Twice, the South Korean girl group known for its catchy pop hits and synchronized choreography has taken the music world by storm with its latest release, “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE.”

The original English single, pre-released on Jan. 20, has reached a career-high for the group, landing at No. 39 on the Spotify Daily Top Songs U.S. chart with an impressive 560,000 streams.

The song also reached a new high in daily streaming views with approximately 1.96 million worldwide, making it into the Top 60 of the Spotify Daily Top Songs Global Chart.

The success of “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE” does not stop there. On the iTunes Song Chart, the song has topped the charts in 33 overseas regions, including Japan, Brazil, and Singapore, on a cumulative basis and reached second place in the United States, its highest ranking to date.

On January 21, the song ranked first in Japan’s Oricon Daily Digital Single Ranking and Recochoku Daily Single Ranking.

The music video for “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE” was also highly praised, landing at number one on YouTube in the U.S. and Japan and number two in the U.K. As of 8:00 a.m. on January 23, the video has surpassed 28.56 million views and continues to receive rave reviews, ranking first in YouTube music video trends worldwide.

The Miami-based pop song, which expresses the emotion and excitement of being in love with the bright moonlight and rising sun, was written, composed, and arranged by K-pop hitmakers Earattack and Lee Woo-Hyun, with additional contributions from Citizen Queen members Nina Ann Nelson and Kaedi Dalley.

Twice’s recent success in the United States is not limited to “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE” According to Luminate, the group has achieved remarkable results in combining CD sales and digital downloads in the United States.

Their mini album “BETWEEN 1&2 ” ranked 5th best-selling album by a group in traditional sales in 2022 in the United States based on group albums, and Nayeon’s first solo album “IM NAYEON” ranked 9th best-selling album by a female solo artist in traditional sales in 2022 in the United States based on albums by female solo artists.

As the group continues dominating the charts and captivating audiences with their music, fans eagerly await their next release.

According to JYP Entertainment, the group’s agency Twice will release a new mini-album in March, further cementing their place in the global pop scene.
