Doha, Qatar—Web Summit Qatar will hold its second edition from February 23 to 26, 2025, following its inaugural event in 2024, which attracted over 15,000 attendees.

The announcement came during the Runway to Web Summit event at M7 in Doha. Web Summit founder and CEO Paddy Cosgrave met with Qatar Development Bank (QDB) CEO Abdulrahman Hesham Al-Sowaidi.

Four Qatar-based startups presented at the event, including;

  • SkipCash, a mobile payment platform;
  • Adeer, an AI business management solution;
  • Wqtah, a platform for booking local experiences;
  • and Kafy, a food-tech company.

The inaugural 2024 summit resulted in 24 Memoranda of Understanding being signed under the Startup Qatar Investment Programme, which aims to support tech startups in establishing or expanding operations in Qatar.

Two startups from the 2024 event, SkipCash and Wqtah, will return as partners for the 2025 summit. SkipCash recently received the Best Smart Solution award at the Qatar Digital Business Awards 2024, while Wqtah won Best Company in Digital Commerce.

"We are delighted to be in Doha today, alongside some incredible local Qatari startups showcasing this region's immense talent and potential," said Cosgrave. "We can't wait for Web Summit Qatar 2025."

Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, said the 2024 event highlighted Qatar's role as a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
