WEF and VivaTech Launch AI Excellence Centre in Paris

Paris, France—The World Economic Forum and VivaTech have agreed to establish a European Centre for AI Excellence in Paris this year. 

The new center will join the World Economic Forum's Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution global network.

The center aims to address artificial intelligence challenges specific to Europe and plans to drive innovation and economic growth across the continent. 

It will leverage France's research capabilities, technology investment landscape, and startup ecosystem.

The initiative follows the AI Action Summit organized by French President Emmanuel Macron in February 2025 in Paris. 

The center will be the first in Europe to focus on AI innovation within the Forum's network.

Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum, stated that the partnership is focused on shaping AI development to support innovation, economic growth, and societal advancement. 

The center intends to connect businesses, policymakers, and researchers to develop AI solutions.

Maurice Lévy, founder of VivaTech and Publicis Groupe Emeritus Chairman, emphasized the center's role in promoting European collaboration on AI development that balances innovation with individual rights. 

The center plans to remain open to international researchers and focus on cooperation between European AI research institutes.
