SoftBank and NEC Partner to Accelerate Digital Transformation

Tokyo, Japan—SoftBank Corp and NEC Corp announced a strategic partnership focused on biometric authentication to accelerate digital transformation (DX) for Japanese businesses and local governments.

The collaboration will combine NEC's biometric authentication solutions, including its "Bio-IDiom Services," with SoftBank's 5G network and security services. 

The companies aim to offer tailored services to customers across various industries.

SoftBank will begin actively marketing NEC's biometric authentication solutions to domestic corporate and government clients in the autumn of 2024.

The partnership also involves SoftBank joining NEC's "Co-creation Partner Program/Digital ID" initiative under NEC's "BluStellar" value creation model.

Both companies are exploring cooperation in other DX areas beyond biometric authentication to contribute to Japan's growth through promoting digital transformation in businesses and society.
