Naver Launches Saudi Arabia's Digital Twin Smart City Project

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Naver (035420. KS) commenced its digital twin platform construction project in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRAH) and the National Housing Company (NHC).

The project, awarded to Naver in October 2023, aims to create digital twin platforms for major Saudi cities and develop key services such as urban planning and flood simulations.

Naver will utilize its ALIKE solution, which creates digital twins of entire cities with an error margin within 10cm using aerial photographs, AI, and indoor space mapping technology.

The company plans to expand partnerships and explore use cases in phases, seeking opportunities for long-term value creation.

Naver is working with Korea Water Resources Corporation and LX on core service development for the project.

Senior officials from Naver and the Saudi government, including MOMRAH Minister Majed Al-Hogail, attended the launch ceremony in Riyadh.

Naver's involvement in Saudi Arabia began in late 2022 as part of the "One Team Korea" initiative, leading to an MOU with MOMRAH for national digital transformation in March 2023.
