Seoul, South Korea—Samsung Electronics (005930. KS) announced on Tuesday that it has successfully qualified its automotive LPDDR4X memory for use with Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon Digital Chassis.

The memory is intended for premium in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

The qualification marks Samsung's commitment to long-term support for automotive customers with new products and technologies.

It also aims to ensure supply chain stability and enhance support for ecosystem partners using the Snapdragon Digital Chassis.

Hyunduk Cho, Vice President and Head of the Automotive Group at Samsung Electronics' Memory Business, emphasized the company's leadership in-memory solutions and the potential for rapid development cycles in the automotive industry.

Samsung is also developing next-generation automotive LPDDR5 memory, with samples expected in the fourth quarter of this year.

The new product will support speeds up to 9.6 gigabits-per-second (Gbps), even in extreme temperatures.

The company's automotive memory lineup includes AEC-Q100-qualified DRAM and NAND products that meet the automotive sector's reliability and verification requirements.
