LINE Yahoo Launches AI Restaurant Summaries in Search Results

Tokyo, Japan - LY Corporation has launched a new feature in Yahoo! Search that displays AI-generated summaries of restaurant reviews for dining establishments in search results.

The feature aims to streamline choosing restaurants by providing concise descriptions based on user reviews. 

Over 80,000 restaurants will now have descriptive summaries in search results, significantly expanding the number of establishments with readily available information.

Previously, only restaurants that had officially registered descriptions were displayed in search results. 

The new AI-powered summaries are generated for restaurants that meet specific criteria, including having a certain number of reviews on Yahoo! Maps and lacking an official description.

LINE Yahoo utilizes OpenAI's API to create these summaries, extracting critical points about a restaurant's atmosphere and recommended menu items from user reviews.

The company states that this initiative aligns with its mission to "create a 'WOW' life platform and deliver '!' to everyday life." 

LINE Yahoo plans to continue improving user convenience by providing easily understandable information to address various questions and challenges in users' daily lives through Yahoo! Search.
