Seoul, South Korea - Naver (035420. KS) has bolstered traffic safety features on its Naver Map app to provide users with safer and more convenient travel experiences.

The South Korean internet giant announced on July 17 that it had updated its map service to deliver more detailed incident information within users' living areas and strengthen disaster information guidance during navigation use.

Naver Map's monthly active users (MAU) increased by about 15% compared to last year.

The company attributes this growth to recent service enhancements, including improved public transportation route guidance and iOS live activity features.

The update refines incident information icons from four to seven categories, including new additions for flood warnings, dam discharge notices, and large-scale fires.

These icons are now more prominently displayed on the map for better visibility.

Naver Map now includes flood warnings and dam discharge information in navigation route searches. Users receive voice alerts when approaching high-risk areas during navigation.

According to Choi Seung-rak, who oversees the Naver Map service, Naver plans to continue developing the map as an "all-in-one platform" that supports users' overall travel experiences.
